1. The challenge and the initial situation

United Oils Kurzeme is a well-known distributor of industrial and automotive engine oils, lubricants and technical fluids, with a physical shop in Ventspils. Despite its strong local reputation, the company’s digital presence was very limited — it operated only a simple single-screen landing page in the digital environment.

This situation created several limitations:

  • Untapped organic search potential: Potential B2B and B2C customers searching for specific engine oils or technical fluids ended up with competitors.

  • Lack of content and structure: A single landing page was unable to cover the extensive product range and specific buyer search queries (search intent).

  • Limited optimisation budget: The project did not allocate large budgets for paid advertising or extensive backlink acquisition campaigns.

Objective: To create a comprehensive, fast and well-designed website that delivers a rapid increase in organic visibility on Google within the first month, relying solely on on-page SEO and technical optimisation.

2. Strategy and work carried out

The project was based on a strategy of maximising on-page effectiveness. Rather than spending resources on external SEO signals, all attention was focused on impeccable code cleanliness, content semantics and user experience (UX).

Executed Actions (Work Progress):

  1. Development of the website’s architecture and logic:

    • A logical and clear structure was created, dividing the product range and services into targeted sections so that each page corresponds to specific user search phrases.

  2. Code optimisation and loading speed:

    • The website’s code was streamlined and optimised as much as possible. Reorganising the invisible code enabled Google bots to index and understand the page content at lightning speed.

  3. Well-thought-out meta data and heading structure:

    • Unique Title tags and Meta Description descriptions, which not only contained important keywords but were also formulated as strong calls to action (CTAs) to drive a high click-through rate (CTR).

  4. Semantic optimisation of content:

    • Textual content was created and optimised using a correct heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) and technical industry terminology.

  5. Automation of images and alt tags:

    • An automated solution was implemented Alt to generate tags based on product names, ensuring additional visibility in Google Images search results.

3. Results in the first month (Google Search Console data)

The data shows an immediate surge in organic search traffic within the first 28 days following the launch of the new website:

Metric Previous period Last 28 days Increase
Organic clicks (Total Clicks) 19 93 +389%
Search impressions (Total Impressions) 194 679 +250%
Click-through rate (CTR) 9.8% 13.7 +3.9 p.p.
Average search position 9.1 8.1 Top 10 (page 1)

Key findings from the data:

  • Excellent CTR (13.7%): In the industrial and technical B2B/B2C sector, this figure is outstanding. It demonstrates that the developed Title and Meta Description tags accurately meet the audience’s needs.

  • Consistent Top 10 ranking (8.1): A new page, without any additional external authority (backlinks), has consistently secured a place on the first page of Google search results within its first month.

  • Rapid growth in organic traffic (+389%): The client gained genuine customers and enquiries without incurring additional expenditure on paid advertising.

4. Summary and insights

This case study demonstrates that even with a limited budget and without expensive offpage SEO, it is possible to achieve impressive results, provided that the following are in place:

  1. A well-focused website structure and architecture.

  2. Clean, fast code and flawless technical implementation.

  3. Content that matches the user’s actual search intent.

United Oils Kurzeme transformed from a local shop with a simple contact page into a prominent player in its sector’s organic search results within the first month.
